Quality Assurance Inspector

Responsible for inspecting parts at all stages of processing, deciding whether or not the parts conform to visual, dimensional, functional and Nondestructive Testing ! specifications, and documenting these decisions and supporting data. Also, responsible for identifying and solving product and processing problems and providing assistance to a variety of operational and support groups as well as vendors and suppliers for accurate quality decisions. Inspector must work with minimal supervision and be capable of independent action. Has necessary independence and authority to evaluate and judge level of conformance with defined requirements.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Audits and verifies technical information (router packet, product container, blueprint identification, count card, and all other technical information in the router packet).
Verifies router to product, in accordance with QC practices (obtain required product identifiers from prints and apply to product).
Documents inspection results (reports, update data base systems, and archive records).
Identifies product and process problems.
Prov! ides assistance to a variety of operational and support groups! .
Samples product in accordance with established procedures.
Audits quality system elements, judging compliance with internal policies and procedures and those with external quality system standards and regulations.
Expected Areas of Competence
 An understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance, computer operation, shop math, blueprint reading, Statistical Process Control, procedures and medical terminology.
 Ability to use the following precision inspection instruments: Calipers, micrometers, scale (ruler), optical comparators, Coordinate Measuring Machine, height gauges, dial indicators, plug gauges, radius gauges, individual hard gauges, overlay, Rockwell Hardness Tester, surface finish gauges, JO Block, surface plate, pitch wires, weight scale, personal computer, and variety of functional gauges.
 Must pass Zimmer Manufacturing B.V. NDT Level II training in order to perform NDT inspection.
 Must have good listenin! g and communications skills.
 Must be able to read, write and understand English.
 Proficiency in data entry.
 Customers focus and team work oriented.
Education/Experience Requirements
 Associate Degree in scientific discipline, plus a minimum of five (5) years of experience in quality assurance or quality control functions or seven (7) years of compensatory experience in mechanical inspections and interpretation of engineering drawings and specifications could be considered.
