Project Manager - Deal Underwriting

Prepares high-quality underwriting packages in support of the proposed complex investments, identifying the strengths, weaknesses and risks. Advocates for credit approval while leading a balanced discussion at Investment Committee. Upholds credit policy and underwriting guidelines and explains any deviations. Follows-up on open matters raised during Investment Committee. Obtains formal credit approval. 2. Reads and reviews complex legal documents pertaining to the tax structured investments. Works with counsel and business partners! to negotiate and mitigate risks. 3. Reviews transaction proje! ctions to analyze and preserve acceptable economic returns. 4. Closes transactions in accordance with credit standards and requirements while managing the expectations of our clients and furthering client relationships. 5. Engages third party professionals (attorneys, accountants, diligence experts) in coordinating the drafting, collection and review of the documents and financial projections necessary to close the investments. 6. Coordinates with internal and external departments to facilitate the underwriting and closing of the investment. 7. Initiates the investment funding at closing and coordinates the transition of the investment to other various departments post-closing. 8. As capacity permits, participates in the early-stage review of potential investments to identify major risks prior to formal underwriting. 9. Helps explore and develop new products and tax credit financing programs 10. Participates actively in special projects, including the establishment and revi! sion of internal policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
Mandatory Minimum Qualifications - Must Have:
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or real estate MBA degree desirable Must be an advocate for promoting sustainable resources In-depth knowledge of the applicable tax credit program Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications and financial spreadsheets Highly motivated, detail-oriented self-starter Ability to work cohesively in a team of people with diverse backgrounds and skill sets Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple investments at one time Ability to interpret data and identify issues Analytical and problem-solving skills Well-developed reading, writing, verbal presentation, and mathematical skills Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
3-5 years of relevant renewable tax credit experience, or comparable work experience Commercial! real estate, banking or renewable energy background preferred
