The Analyst, Global Royalties - Books position will maintain relationships with authors, business units and vendors. Analyze and interpret contracts for royalty and subsidiary rights terms. Ensure that all contract terms and adjustments are accurately entered into the royalty system. Ensure authors royalty statements are accurate and mailed in a timely manner.

Key Result Areas and Main Responsibilities:
Reconciliation:
Review incoming subsidiary rights statements for accuracy and ensure ! rates agree with the licensing contract.
Review weekly sal! es without contract terms report. Locate and load missing contracts or contact editorial department to determine if royalty is due for the title.

Analysis:
Analyze and interpret contracts for royalty and subsidiary rights terms before loading them into the royalty system.
Assist with new company acquisitions. Interpreting and loading their contracts into our royalty/subright and advance system.

Communication:
Follow up and respond to unresolved author and business units concerns.
Answer author, business unit and attorney inquiries.
Respond to phone, mail, and e-mail inquiries in a timely manner.

Royalty Maintenance:
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual royalty pay out. Load any adjustments or changes ensuring author statements and checks are mailed in a timely manner.
Load contracts and subsidiary terms into royalty system accurately and in a timely manner.
Review and process all adva! nce requests, ensuring contract has been loaded and check request is within the authorized amount of the contract.
Review and load subsidiary rights payments into royalty system.
Load any adjustments needed for the royalty payout accurately and timely.
Research old outstanding checks on bank reconciliations prior to being moved to unclaimed property account.
Assist with any other miscellaneous project assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experiences:
High school education required, some college or an Associates Degree preferred

Minimum of 3 years business experience in a customer service, accounts payable or contracts related environment

Excellent communication and customer service skills needed

Functional and Technical Competencies:
Must be able to read, comprehend, and analyze publishing contracts.

Experience with a windows based customer service or accounts pa! yable/receivable system and image scanning system.

Ability to ! understand and perform basic accounting principles.

Must be proficient in Excel, Word.

Basic knowledge of 1099’s and W9’s.
