Terrill, one of the largest independent insurance brokers has an immediate opening for a Senior Claims Specialist within the Commercial Lines Department. The Senior Claims Specialist is resonsible for providing prompt, accurate and courteous service on claims processing to all Commercial Lines accounts, Account Managers, Producers and Insurance Companies.

1. Processes claims and lawsuits by gathering information and reporting to the insurance company by:

  • Completing necessary claim forms (non-work comp) from written or verbal reports of! claim information given by clients, claimants, witnesses and ! producers for submission to carrier same day, ascertaining specific coverage’s required and evidence coverage exists and is in effect.
  • Logging all claim activity in specific claim account.
  • Complete suspense and follow-up within two (2) days on all requests of clients, producers, account coordinators.
2. Ensures that claim information for all open and closed claims is maintained in accordance with agency procedures by:
  • Documenting all conversations and correspondence in the EPIC
System or Record of Telephone conversation form on work comp.
  • Updating notification of company claim number and adjuster in
the EPIC system.
  • Updating notification of payment, denial and status in the EPIC
system.

3. Processes all Client requests for service, including:
  • Claim status inquiry.
  • Submitting information to insurance companies or claims adjustment
  • !
companies the day request received.
  • Informing Producers/Account Managers of all significant losses.
  • Reviewing all coverage possibilities or questionable coverage denial by carrier.
  • Schedule and attend claim reviews on all accounts over $25,000 income to agency at least bi-annually.
  • Handle day-to-day claims management of large, complex accounts.
  • Develop special handling instructions on all large complex accounts and work with carrier to ensure commitment.
  • Assist client with settlement value discussions with carrier.
4. Maintain current knowledge of specific state laws and communicate to clients when appropriate by:
  • Attending seminars
  • Reviewing subject material periodically
  • Communicating with carrier adjusters and attorneys to get current information.
