Job Description:
The Legal Assistant is responsible for providing professional support for assigned attorneyâs to ensure stability and accuracy within the department as well as quality legal secretarial support to law department & clients. Specific duties include:
Type correspondence, documents, reports and memoranda.
Proofread documents for accuracy and review documents for formatting consistency.
Make travel arrangements for assigned attorneys to include transportation as well as hotel accommodations.
Maintain attorneyâs calendar, schedule meetings including coordination of conference room and catering arrangements.
Acts on own initiative, provides quality legal secretarial support to law department & clients.
Independently produces relevant legal-specific correspondence and documents.
Plan, organize & make decisions regarding administrative matters.
Takes ownership for meeting goals, managing special projects & acts as a communication link between the attorney and his/her organization & others.
Will identify additional functions & responsibilities to assist the Legal Department in improving the delivery of quality legal services. Associates degree or equivalent work experience. May mentor others.
Education or Equivalent Experience
Typical relevant experience is a minimum of 8 years.
