POSITION SUMMARY:
The paralegal for Wealth Planning Strategies (WPS) conducts legal research and provides the WPS group with requisite information to produce whitepapers, client communication, and presentation materials. This role is responsible for preparing flowcharts depicting clients’ current estate planning documents, which may require the additional preparation of tax calculations, asset lists, and valuation sheets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
The paralegal role also includes updating certain databases, research, and preparing periodic and/or ad hoc reports. The paralegal may parti cipates on, and may lead, one or more project team(s) for low to moderately complex area initiatives. The paralegal must demonstrate excellent client service skills, and the subject matter expertise necessary to review current estate plans to ascertain provisions, necessary updating, and any problems. A strong working knowledge of common estate planning strategies is required, and the ideal candidate will be proficient in basic legal research skills. The paralegal also must work under limited supervision. Effective document management is required: the paralegal will maintain a library of written articles and other information provided to internal financial advisors and externally for company clients.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working with estate planning attorneys on drafting or administration of client matters
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft office applications, with an emphasis on PowerPoint
Aptitu de to learn and utilize client management software
Bachelor’s degree (paralegal related preferred)
Understanding of basic fiduciary issues relevant to client relationships
Strong work ethic and willingness to participate proactively in department projects
Desire to develop expertise in areas consistent with the department’s goals
