Assistant Credit Manager

Location: Kansas City Missouri

Assists General Credit Manager in conducting credit investigations and collecting delinquent accounts of customers by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Investigates and verifies financial status and reputation of prospective customers applying for credit, preparing documents to substantiate findings, and recommending rejection or approval of applications.

Reviews collection reports to ascertain status of collections and balances outstanding and to evalua! te effectiveness of current collection policies and procedures! .

Release and reject orders based on credit parameters as indicated on the Tolas system.

Provide both reasonable and flexible credit terms to customers to stimulate sales volume.

Evaluate the condition of all Accounts Receivable accounts in branch locations.

Submits delinquent accounts to attorney or outside agency for collection.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Indirectly supervises Credit Collection Coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting emphasis and two to four years related experience and/or training; or equ! ivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge and understanding of commercial credit and collection laws and regulations. Ability to use personal computer,! working knowledge of Excel and related accounting software.
