More complete informations about this position opportunity kindly read the description below. Prestigious Kansas City, MO firm has a newly created role of Manager, Information Security. This is a high visibility leadership role that reports directly to the CIO. Position is very entrepreneurial requiring significant expertise in IT Security, vulnerability, risk, and compliance. Individual must have experience in managing Information Security Programs.
The Manager, Information Security is primarily responsible for all ongoing activities related to the availability, integrity, confidentiality and security of firm and client information in complia! nce with the firm’s security policies and procedures and gov! erning regulations and law.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develops information risk management strategy and serves as a thought leader in the area of information security and cyber security.
- Develops in association with the CIO organization and firm management, the information security policies and procedures for the firm.
- Manages the Enterprise Information Security Program
- Coordinates the information security compliance activities with internal staff.
- Initiates, facilitates, and promotes activities to foster information security awareness.
- Coordinates with the CIO for the review and management of the electronic security systems in place including anti-virus management, firewall and internet access protections, log review, data encryption, and data loss prevention services.
- Responsible for information security business continuity and disaster recovery plans by coordinating with firm management and the I! T organization. Ensures that plans are frequently tested.
- Performs information security risk analysis at all levels within the organization and periodic information system activity reviews for information security procedures.
- Responds to information security portions of client RFPs and coordinates with lead attorney on audits or follow-ups.
- Interfaces with clients as needed concerning information security audits and procedures at the firm.
- Reviews all unusual copying, movement and deletion of data and information movement for unauthorized access or transfer.
- Responsible for applying and using technology to enforce firm policies related to information security, ethical walls and access to information.
- Manages information security incident response.
- Monitors and promotes advancements in information security technologies.
- Acts as a leader and guide on information security best practice.
- Successful! ly sets priorities, performs tasks in an orderly fashion, and meets tim! e deadlines.
- Demonstrates good written and oral communications skills and communicates effectively.
- Demonstrates agility and is flexible with changing priorities.
- Maintains departmental records in accordance with policies and procedures and submits all required paperwork and reports accurately and on time.
- 10+ years’ experience in an information security role focused on information security management
- Proven experience planning and executing successful information security strategies, programs and processes in a highly sophisticated, global environment.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills; the ability to lead and influence to develop broad commitment.
- Ability to balance information security standards with their practical impact on the firm.
- Experience working with and implementing ISO 27001 standards.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Cert! ified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) required.
