The Senior Installation Technician performs and supports the installation of computing equipment at local ! and remote facilities; ensuring tasks and assignments comply with IT standards to provide a consistent and supportable computing infrastructure. This position manages a queue of work and responds to customer requests; providing installation services to internal customers for wired and wireless LAN connected hardware, network communications equipment, software and peripherals. The Senior Installation Technician provides installation assistance remotely via the telephone as well as on-site customer contact. This position serves as a technical consultant to map customer requirements to known standard solutions.
Installs and configures wired and wireless LAN connected hardware, network communications equipment, software and peripherals at remote and corporate campus facilities
Completes larger efforts, such as hardware replacements or move projects; manages a queue of daily work; ensures customer commitments are met; assists peers as needed
Promotes adherence to tec! hnology standards and follows documented procedures
Acts a! s first point of contact for procedural and technical escalations; actively assists peers with technical or procedural issues
Documents tickets according to departmental standards with an appropriate level of detail
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with peers and end users
Sets and manages end user expectations relative to IT standards to maintain a consistent and supportable environment
Provides installation assistance remotely via the telephone as well as on-site customer contact
Promotes the use of proper phone etiquette, following established procedures for answering, transferring, and closing calls
Participates in hardware and software testing to implement new technology and services
Initiates knowledge transfer within the team
Participates on team projects that enhance the quality or efficiency of departmental operations
Serves as a technical consultant to map customer requirements to known standard solution! s
Performs task automation and implements process improvements; assists with recommending enhancements that result in increased quality and service
Maintains established service level agreements to meet customer expectations and quality standards; identifies opportunities for improvement
May informally coach and mentor less senior team members individually
Qualifications:
Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred
Four to seven years of experience as an Install Technician
Must be able to change or vary and/or travel to other locations due to business need
Must have understanding of the job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a variety of tasks
Experience focusing on operati! onal and tactical activities
Ability to participate on project team! s
Will provide support with project planning through the development of individual work plans
Must be able to work on small to large, moderately complex assignments that may require research and advanced skill application
Must be comfortable preparing and delivering informal presentations to own team
Must be able to escalates complex issues to the appropriate resource and follow established escalation procedures
Upholds the standards, policies, and procedures
Must be comfortable receiving little instruction on work assignments and general instructions on newly introduced assignments
