Dressing and stocking shelves with products received in from vendors â€" consists of extensive periods of standing, with intermittent bendin! g, stooping, reaching, and ladder-climbing to retrieve product from pallet and place on shelving units. Must be able to operate a box knife safely in order to open cartons.
Pulling orders in preparation for order shipment â€" consists of continuous walking and pushing a cart or holding a basket to place product in, and requires reaching, bending, climbing ladders, and stooping to gather up product and place in cart or basket.
Scanning orders for shipments to customers â€" orders may comprise single items or multiple items having variations of shape, size, color and weight.
Packaging orders of varying sizes and weights using a variety of different-sized boxes and packing materials â€" requires the ability to judge space, depth, and weight. Must be able to follow packaging guidelines and protocols to avoid product damage, spills, or unnecessary shipping or product costs. Requires extensive periods of standing, reaching, handling packing peanuts or bubble wrap and ! lifting up to 50 lbs.
Cleaning warehouse from top to botto! m, to include sweeping, wet-vacuuming, straightening, polishing, sanitizing, breaking down boxes, taking out trash, etc. â€" consists of stooping, bending, reaching, stretching, swiping, standing, walking, cutting, and using cleaning chemicals.
Receiving Department Responsibilities:
Using dock plate hook to release dock plates prior to unloading trucks â€" requires using a 10-lb metal hook to lift, pull and release dock plate onto trailer bed.
Assisting drivers with unloading trucks â€" requires lifting up to 50 lbs, pushing and pulling a dolly or pallet jack.
Entering purchase orders into stock using a standard computer keyboardâ€" requires sitting upright in a chair and typing on a keyboard.
Breaking down vendor boxes â€" requires safe and proper usage of a box cutter knife and the ability to unfold and stack cardboard pieces and disposing of the cardboard into the dumpster. Includes the ability to throw cardboard over your head in order to! place inside the dumpster.
Double-checking orders received for accuracy â€" requires counting skills and reconciliation skills in order to compare packing slip to actual contents of the received shipment.
Labeling boxes for stocking â€" using a permanent marker to write the bin location for each incoming shipment on the outside of the box.
Communicating with accounting department by phone or email to report product discrepancies â€" requires keyboarding and/or telephone operating skills.
Requirements
Job Requirements
Education/Experience Required:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
2+ years of experience in a general warehouse environment to include order pulling, packing, and shipping
1-2 years of pharmaceutical-related inventory experience
1-2 years job-specific training experience for new employees
1-2 years of warehouse lead experience
Skills:
Ability to follow oral and written instructions!
Ability to work with co-workers to complete tasks
Ability to o! perate shipping and receiving equipment/machines
Pays attention to detail with proven low error ratios
Ability and willingness to follow strict rules, procedures and guidelines
Ability to learn a variety of job tasks
Ability to read, count and make minute distinctions between similar items
Knowledge:
Knowledge of pharmaceutical products a plus!
Knowledge of the first-in, first-out product rotation system
Basic keyboarding and bar-code scan skills
Knowledge of safety practices in a fast-paced warehouse environment
Licenses:
Pharmacy Technician license a plus
Forklift experience a plus
Working Conditions:
Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs. from the floor to pallet height and waist without assistance of other personnel
Ability to lift items up to 24 lbs. above the shoulder.
Ability to lift 50 lbs. waist to shoulder packages from cart height to 44' without assistance ! from other personnel
Ability to grip items up to 30 lbs.
Extended periods of standing and walking, plus frequent stooping, and kneeling.
Ability to push objects in a shopping cart or on a pallet jack up to 39 lbs. peak force
Ability to pull objects in a shopping cart or on a pallet jack up to 37 lbs. peak force
Climbing up and down step ladders up to 12' off of the floor
Typing information into a computer
Correctible vision and color vision required
Safety Hazards:
Works with chemical cleaners for general warehouse cleaning
Handles prescription bottles that may contain traces of its contents on the bottle
Uses box cutter blades and replaces blades when needed
Works in a warehouse with an operating forklift
