The purpose of this position is to provide focused leadership for all aspects of Quality Management, Case Management/Social Service, Infection Con! trol, Patient Safety, Performance Improvement and Clinical Documentation, at Southeast Hospital. This position provides leadership for the overall strategic direction, business development, financial performance, performance improvement, physician collaboration, patient satisfaction and operation of all areas reporting to Quality Management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
In collaboration with the Quality Council, Chief Medical Officer, physician and executive leadership, and key members of Quality Department, establishes the strategic direction, long and short range goals, and annual objectives for Quality Management and all departments reporting to Quality Management.
Provides oversight and management of the following areas:
Regulatory Compliance and Accreditation
Performance Improvement
Infection Control and Prevention
Clinical Documentation
Social Services and Case Management
Patient Safety/Patient Satisfaction!
Serves as liaison between hospital and attorneys at the d! irection of Administration.
Serves as quality improvement resource to hospital departments.
Anticipates emerging trends related to health care quality, evaluates impact on current services, technology and market, and plans accordingly.
Develops business plans, coordinates space, equipment, and information systems for all areas of Quality Management in collaboration with institutional subject matter experts.
Promotes collegial interdisciplinary team relationships to support seamless delivery of care.
Integrates operation of all areas managed through matrix relationships into a cohesive, effective and efficient service for patients, families, physicians and staff.
Develops, maintains and supports capital and operational budgets, for assigned areas and collaborates with areas managed through matrix relationships to assure that the overall capital and operating budgets support the strategic and operating plan for Quality Management. Manage expenses for a! ssigned areas in this same manner to achieve annual financial goals. Promotes and creates appropriate operational effectiveness and efficiency to improve financial performance.
Determines appropriate quality, business and operational measurement criteria to monitor the performance of assigned areas and collaborates with appropriate stakeholders to improve results .
Performs other duties as assigned.
