Senior Compliance Manager - Bankruptcy Testing and Monitoring The candidate assists in the establishment of a new Compliance Quali! ty Assurance (CQA) federal and local bankruptcy compliance testing and monitoring program. Plans, organizes, directs and controls the effective implementation of this program to facilitate consistent compliance oversight to identify, assess, manage and report the risk of failure to comply with federal and local bankruptcy laws. Testing and monitoring will occur enterprise-wide across all applicable business units including mortgage, payments and consumer lending. Develops and generates reports to be used by senior management and the Board on trends, findings and recommendations. Performs managerial duties of the department staff. Maintains high level of compliance awareness and knowledge to effectively support area of responsibility. Responsible for developing and managing a risk based program for regular compliance testing and monitoring of enterprise-wide bankruptcy requirements. Develops, maintains and updates the compliance testing plan for applicable business units to ! ensure appropriate coverage. Reviews and approves written repo! rts, summarizing findings and recommendations. Develops and implements various management reporting to communicate issues, trends, and progress of recommended corrective actions. Escalates matters of concern to management. Participates in the review and interpretation of new and pending bankruptcy laws and regulations. Monitors and follows-up on outstanding compliance issues and ensures timely resolution. Provides management with periodic assessments of the level of compliance. Ensures that compliance files are maintained, documenting compliance activities and maintaining appropriate reporting in support of the compliance processes. May coordinate examinations by internal/external auditors and by regulatory examiners. Exercises the usual authority of a manager regarding staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations and terminations.
The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree with strong industry experience or a law degree with concentrated! knowledge of bankruptcy requirements at the federal and local level. Must have 10+ years of relevant work and management experience. Should have thorough knowledge of federal and local bankruptcy laws and regulations and an understanding of the financial services regulatory and compliance environment related to said requirements. Prior experience in audit principals and/or testing and monitoring programs, reporting and analysis needed.
