DESCRIPTION
Superv! ising Attorney - Children’s Legal Services, a division of the Department of Children and Families, is seeking an experienced attorney to join the CLS management team as a supervising attorney in St. John’s County, Florida.
CLS attorneys represent the people of Florida, by and through the Department, advocating for the best interests of Florida’s children in dependency proceedings. A Supervising Attorney will oversee five to seven CLS attorneys while implementing the CLS vision of building a top statewide “law firm.†Our vision is to lead the nation in advocating for the safety, protection, and well-being of children and to be respected for our competence, advocacy, dedication, and professional expertise.
The successful applicant will have a strong interest in child advocacy and have solid litigation experience. An understanding of Chapter 39, Florida Statutes, is a plus but not a requirement. Additionally, the successful candidate must have good ! academic credentials, strong written and oral communication sk! ills, a keen interest in courtroom litigation, excellent critical thinking skills, a positive attitude and be a member of the Florida Bar. Candidates should have management experience or be able to articulate their management skill set using specific and quantifiable examples from their professional career.
