GENERAL DUTIES: Perform technical clerical work in the Circuit Civil - Domestic Relations/Child Support Department which will include the following: make docket entries; prepare dismissal dockets; review files and mail notices to attorneys and litigants; enter data into computer; assist with settings of Domestic Relations matters; print, certify and mail payment histories from the MACSS system upon request; answer inquiries and furnish information to attorneys, court personnel and the general public in person and by telephone; and perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum data entry speed of 8,000 keystrokes per hour. High School diploma or equivalent. (The following minimum requirements can also be achieved through any equivalent combination of education and experience which provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.) Two years general office/clerical experience; ability to operate standard office machines, including a computer an! d typewriter; ability to communicate effectively, both orally ! and in writing; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; ability to make sound decisions in accordance with laws, regulations, office policies and procedures; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; ability to understand complex procedures and determine and prepare material from such procedures; ability to work in an independent fashion, with minimal supervision.
DEFINITION OF WORK:
This is advanced clerical work in a court within the Missouri State Court System.
Work involves responsibility for a specific area of court case processing or for performing a variety of technical clerical functions which requires the application of independent judgment and the interpretation of statutes, policies and regulations. Employees of this class are full functioning court clerks and most work will be performed with a minimum of checking or other supervision. Positions in this class are distinguish! ed from Court Clerk I by the degree of independence and responsibility expected and degree of complexity of procedures performed. Work may involve lead worker duties over lower level clerical employees. Work is reviewed by a supervisor through observation of operations, and advice and assistance are available when unusual or difficult matters arise.
