Function: Human Resources Pay Type: Exempt Position Number: 90024085 Asst Mgr Complex Human Resources Employee Type: Full Time Re! location: Yes SUMMARY: This position is responsible for performing a variety of administrative, technical, and professional work in administering and managing plant personnel functions including compensation, recruitment, selection, labor relations, and benefits counseling. Specific responsibilities include advertising, recruiting, interviewing, and assisting in selection of Team Members to fill vacant positions, keeping records of insurance coverage, pension plan, and personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and preparing reports such as turnover percentages, affirmative action reports, personnel activity reports, accident reports, and monthly Bureau of Labor and Statistics reports. Other responsibilities include monitoring adherence to safety regulations including OSHA laws, EEO and ADA employment/labor laws, developing curriculum and conducting training for Supervisors and crew relating to safety,defensive drivin! g, Team Member relations, and employment policies, and monitor! ing all disciplinary actions taken to ensure they are consistent and fair. Other duties include attending and participating in community functions as a Tyson representative, working with attorneys in all plant related legal activities, and performing other responsibilities as they arise.
Education: Bachelors degree preferred. Experience: 3+ years experience preferably in the Human Resource field in a plant environment. Computer Skills: Basic computer skills. Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills. Travel: 1-5 trips per year. Supervisory Skills: This position is responsible for supervising agroup of personnel in a single department or work unit who perform similar and/or interrelated tasks and activities.
