Sr. Claims Analyst

The Sr. Claims Analyst ('SCA') will work closely with the Divisions, Projects, Legal, Safety, Quality Assurance, Insurance Carriers, Attorneys, Experts, Third-Party Claim Administrators, etc. in the reporting, investigating, negotiation and resolution of Claims.The SCA position will report to the CRM/CD of McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. The SCA position will maintain a strong working relationship with various division / project personnel, safety directors, quality assurance directors, general counsel office, insurance carriers (Owner, McCarthy, JV & Subcontractors), attorneys (defense, plaintiff & coverage), experts, third-party claim administrators, brokers and various personnel within the McCarthy risk management department.Responsibilities: Responsible for handling the day-to-day claims handling of liability and builders' risk clams, working closely with all necessary interal / external parties in the resolution of claims. Responsible for reporting, tracking and documenting of claims. Responsible for investigating, evaluating, strategizing, negotiating and settling claims. Responsible for tendering to subcontractors and additional insured carriers in order to trigger the appropriate additional insured defense and indemnification obligations. Responsible for working with Legal in managing and directing defense and/or coverage counsel in the handling of McCarthy claims. Responsible for quarterly / annual claim reporting. Responsible for escalating and engaging the CRM/CD on high-exposure / complex claim matters. Responsible for establishing close working relationships with our insurance carriers. Perform contract reviews as requested. 7 - 10 years of property & casualty claims experience (General Liability, Professional Liability, Pollution Liability, Builder's Risk and Property/Contractors Equipment), particularly construction defect claims handling. General knowledge and understanding of Construction. Bachelors Degree required; CPCU, ARM, CRIS and other certifications a plus. Strong knowledgebase / experience working with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, various claim / risk management applications. Competencies Multi-state claims handling experience. Familiar with various state laws / regulations / case law surrounding claim handling. Ability to review, analyze and understand available coverage positions under the policy and articulate such positions with carriers and with internal staff (e.g., Legal, Safety, Division). Strong communication skills (written & verbal). Ability to travel as necessary to mediations, on-site investigations, etc. (25%) Manage third-party claim administrators and defense attorneys. Establish strong working relationships with McCarthy carriers. Heavy claims handling experience with General Liability - Construction Defect and Property - Builders Risk Claims.
