The Law Department supports the vision and values of Wells Fargo by providing expert, creative, cost-effective, and timely advice and services to all Wells Fargo businesses and support functions. Attorneys on the Regulatory Team support the Wealth and Investment Management Division. Attorneys represent the Firm and individuals in responding to regulatory inquiries, investigations, on the record interviews and charges from various regulatory agencies including the SEC, FINRA, all 50 states, and other regulatory and self-regulatory agencies. Attorneys also work with Compliance and Internal Investigations to conduct internal investigations of issues that involve Wealth and Investment Management employees and entities. Attorneys also provide legal counsel to Compliance, Human Resources and management on various issues, including the regulatory risks and considerations involved in discipline of employees. The Team handles many cases internally, involving travel at times.



Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience as a practicing attorney
  • Active State Bar membership

Desired Qualifications
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of research, counsel, and guidance on complex legal questions or inquiries
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Effective organizational, multi tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to analyze legal i ssues in substantive law in area of practice and provide effective advice to clients on routine legal matters
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and deadlines

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Ability to analyze legal issues in substantive law in area of practice and provide effective advice to clients on complex legal matters
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of research, counsel, and guidance on complex legal questions or inquiries
  • Experience with regulatory interviews, trials, depositions or arbitrations
  • Experience drafting legal documents, formulating legal strategies and negotiating resolutions
  • Experience with internal investigations
  • Securities industry experience
  • Prior representation of securities firms or individual employees in regulatory matters
  • Ability to understand and explain profit and loss computations and other account analysis tool s
