The Automobile Club of Missouri is seeking career-minded individual for our Claims Representative I opportunity at the St. Louis, Headquarters location. This position supports the Claims Operation by providing service pursuant to the policy by handling claims of material damage, property and/or casualty lines and small bodily injury claims of insurance written by the Interinsurance Exchange in compliance with all regulatory and statutory requir! ements.
The primary functions include:
Inv! estigation, evaluation and negotiation of claims in compliance with established company technical and customer service Best Practices.
Employs discretion and independent judgment to ensure compliance with state and federal law, and with established company, technical, and customer service best practices.
Under minimal supervision, works within specific limits and authority.
Communicate and interact with a variety of individuals and businesses including insureds and claimants, body shops, contractors and vendors.
Conduct phone and/or field investigations to determine liability and damages.
Explain benefits, coverages, fault and claims process either verbally or in writing in compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
Job Requirements:
Successful candidates have the following qualifications:
Bachelor's (4 year) degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Microsof! t Office proficiency.
Strong organizational skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to deal with injured parties and attorneys via telephone or in person.
