Description: Monsanto is looking of Assistant General Counsel Intellectual Property right now, this position will be placed in Missouri. Our intellectual property attorneys provide leadership in securing meaningful worldwide patent protection for biotechnological innovations for genetically improved seeds, including those arising from collaborative research outside Monsanto, by (a) setting, continuously revising and implementing an effective IP strategy, (b) preparing and prosecuting U.S. patent applications in accordance with the IP strategy, (c) directing outside attorney prosecution of ex-U.S. patent applications, and (d) guiding project teams in documenta! tion for inventions and appropriate follow-up studies, and (e)! preparing and managing technology transfer agreements for assigned project areas.
J.D. degree; B.S. in biology, chemistry or related field;
USPTO Registration, bar membership,
3+ years patent preparation and prosecution experience preferably in the biotechnology field
Experience in the area of transgenic seeds would be a plus
Must understand team dynamics and function well in a team environment
Experience with the following matters:

attention to detail and thorough execution of assigned tasks
good relationships with clients, supervision, co-workers and support staff
