Job Description
Attorney will become a member of the Clearing and Operations team within the Wealth, Brokerage, Retirement and Asset Management Division of the Legal Group, providing legal support and counsel associated with the retail brokerage activities of the corporation. Specific responsibilities include handling matters relating to retail brokerage back office operations, including regulatory requirements associated with the creation, maintenance and production of books and records by broker-dealers. Candidate should be able to work independently but may consult with a more senior attorney and/or have key points of work reviewed by a more senior attorney.
Basic Qualifications
2+ years experience as a practicing attorney. Juris Doctorate. State Bar membership is required.
Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to provide research, counsel and guidance on routine legal questions o! r inquiries. Ability to analyze legal issues in substantitive ! law in area of practice, provide effective advice to clients on routine legal matters. Strong verbal and written communications skills; interpersonal skills; excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines.
Prior legal experience demonstrating an understanding of the rules and regulations governing broker-dealers and counseling clients on securities law matters. Ability to proactively identify, research and analyze legal issues in substantive area of practice and provide effective counsel and guidance to clients. Flexibility to handle day-to-day work challenges confidently and the willingness to adjust to multiple client demands, shifting priorities, deadlines, ambiguity and rapid change.
