Working under minimal supervision, carries out a variety of moderately complex to complex mechanical design assignments, exercising considerable! latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgement. Prepares sketches or complete detail and layout drawings from instructions or specifications. Works independently on the development of original designs. May supervise less experienced drafters. Typically would possess a degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
As a draftsman and technician with the diagnostic and delivery department, your primary responsibility will be to update and create new drawings, and to provide testing and general technical support to the development of new products and existing product lines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.Work with Engineering Group to create new drawings of components using Solid Works software
2.Able to update drawings in Solid Works that may have been drawn by someone else
3.Comply with all Quality requirements including accurate and complete documentation
4.Conduct test! ing / experiments with attention to detail such that issues (s! uch as outlier, trends, and testing errors) are identified.
5.Document test results and observations clearly and concisely within a laboratory notebook/ test report.
6.Enter test results into MS Excel and evaluate data utilizing basic statistical analysis methods (e.g., average, standard deviation, min., max., etc.)
7.Assist in the development of new test methods.
8.Help design new tests and work with engineering to verify correct methods are followed
9.Able to work on own with little supervision
10.Comply with Mallinckrodts policies and procedures.
11.Use of Mold Flow Advisor, from Autodesk.
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.
2.Overtime hours as needed
3.Contribute ideas, identifying issues, and recommending solutions
4.Working at multiple locations may be required, must have own transportation and! valid drivers license
5.Travel may be required
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education required/ preferred: A high school diploma combined with related technical experience is required. A completion of college level course work with related experience is preferred.
Experience: Prefers 5-10 years of applicable experience, but will consider less for the right candidate.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
Evidence of technical/mechanical skills is needed
Working knowledge of basic statistical techniques is preferred
Computer proficiency is required (i.e., MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word)
Skills/Competencies:
Effective planning and organizational skills
Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong Problem Solving Skills are required
A proactive nature and the capable of working independently and with others is required
