This area provides lightweight and nimble solutions tailor made to smaller scale business needs primarily in a .NET development environment. The nat! ure of development will require this individual to be highly collaborative and self-motivated to build relationships with peers across several departments and world regions to understand data management practices and successfully implement objectives. This individual will be responsible for assisting in the gathering of business and data requirements, create database strategies to provide immediate, near-term, mid-term and long term solutions that provide the compatibility and flexibility for each business area. They will also be responsible for leading the database administration work within the team. Additionally, this individual will be expected to assist in other tasks outside the data area that could range from code development to system configuration of resources and anything in-between. This individual will also be expected to assist in setting the strategic direction of the Department class organization and articulate a clear, concise strategic vision and direction ! of the company.
Qualifications:
- M! ust be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred
Proven experience in designing, developing, and documenting conceptual and logical data models Strong relational database experience â€" SQL Server required (Teradata, DB2/400, MySQL, Oracle experience desired) Demonstrates understanding of relational concepts, relational database technologies, and SQL Experience in implementing database backup and recovery strategies and procedures Proven knowledge and experience in designing database schemas to align with development and business goals and objectives Proven knowledge and experience in monitoring daily database activities; tuning database configurations! for optimal performance; allocate disk storage space as needed to accommodate database growth Experience working with the business community and application development to analyze business requirements and develop information models, diagrams and reports to contribute to the data architecture Experience developing and deploying of policies/procedures on data-related activities such as data integrity, data quality, data security, data inventory, data standards, data sharing and data repository Strong written and oral communication skills, including good presentation and facilitation proficiency Experience in the evaluation of new application proposals to identify any potential for sharing existing data Experience with SQL tuning to improve query performance Experience with SSIS Experience in application design and delivery of web applications is a plus
