We have an immediate opening for an Asbestos Toxic Tort Litigation Paralegal in the Technology, Manufacturing & Transportation Strategic Business Unit of our St. Louis office.

Paralegal Supervisor
Scope of Responsibilities:
Provide assistance to attorneys in fact investigation, legal research, document preparation and production, database management, docketing/case management, and overall client service. Functions specific to litigation practice may include written discovery, electronic discovery, deposition preparation, investigation and trial preparation, analysis of factual information, assistance in preparation of pleadings, motions and/or briefs, management of document production databases, and trial participation.

Comply with firm policies.
Sustain attention ! to detail and quality of work.
Learn/develop technica! l proficiency in database use and management; internet/electronic research; and project folder/electronic file maintenance.
Independently organize and manage files or delegate similar tasks to Records Clerk and supervise same.
Attend and participate in in-house CLEs.
Supervise and mentor Paralegal Assistants.
Anticipate attorney needs.
Independently handle all key duties without supervision of another Paralegal or Senior Paralegal.
Meet billable hour requirement.
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
Asbestos Toxic Tort litigation experience preferred.
Paralegal Certificate from ABA approved program for legal assistants or completion of institutionally accredited program not ABA approved, but which requires not less than the equivalent of 60 semester hours of classroom study
OR
Bachelorâs degree or advanced degree in a law-related field
OR
Associateâs degree from ABA approved program for legal assistants and one year or more of in-house training as a paralegal
OR
High School diploma (or equivalent) and two years or more of in-house training as a paralegal
OR
Significant, substantive legal related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education at the discretion of the Department.
Other Desired Qualifications:
Ability to interact effectively and professionally and provide exceptional service, internally and externally, at all times.
Highly organized, able to prioritize workflow and manage projects.
Ability to perform effectively with little or no supervision and within established time limits and on-going deadlines.
Past experience with document database programs and/or software including Summation, Concordance, Relativity, and/or equivalent programs.
Mass Tort/Complex Litigation trial experience and/or similar! trial experience.
