INTERIOR DESIGNER

Accomplishes results through working with team members to build a stronger group. Develops solutions to problems of unusual complexity t! hat require a high degree of innovation and ingenuity. Provides support for a multi-discipline design team on a project. Must be familiar with all phases of design from programming through construction administration. Must possess an in depth working knowledge of contract furnishings to be able to put together performance based bid packages. Must be technically proficient and have the ability to successfully draw and produce Construction Documents, manage project budgets, and develop and manage man-hour workplans. Must have the ability to design interior building components or portions of systems, and/or modify existing designs to develop or improve them. Uses computer-aided design equipment, gathers information, makes studies, performs calculations, and prepares original rough layouts and sketches to present design proposal. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Training and Experience Minimum 5-10 years of commercial/corporate interior design experien! ce required, demonstrated drafting/design expertise. Bachelor ! of Science or Bachelor of Arts is required from a CIDA accredited Interior Design Program or NAAB accredited Interior Architecture Program. There will be travel as job requires due to client base not being local. Must be proficient with AutoCAD 2007, Google Sketchup, Revit, and Microsoft Excel. CAP experience would be a plus. Successful candidate must demonstrate organizational skills and ability to work in a team environment. NCIDQ Certification is required. LEED AP is a plus. Other Essential Functions This position will initially fulfill a design and production role for office and tenant improvement build-out. Strong project team experience and through knowledge of the construction document process, field observation and general construction administration experience, and experience with furniture procurement and installation coordination is desired.
