The Litigation Legal Analyst performs substantive legal work that requires a solid understanding of legal concepts, laws, regulations, procedures, and company policies. The responsibilities of the incumbent are customarily, but not exclusively, performed by an attorney. This position demands accountability for the method, investigation, analytical review and research of pending legal issues and documents followed by recommendations of strategic avenues that reduce the risk of company exposure. The Legal Analyst has the knowledge and experience of a paralegal as well as a heightened level of abilities in analytical skills, legal research, due diligence, ethical considerations, accountability for decisions and outcome, and overall exper! tise in the legal profession. Interpersonal skills include abi! lity to lead, confidence and composure, conflict resolution and negotiation skills, superior time management, and adeptness in written and oral communications.
A Litigation Legal Analyst has customary responsibilities that include the following: review and analysis of legal and factual data supporting client or adversary claims and litigation; participate in client meetings; interview witnesses; review and summarize rules of court procedure; draft and finalize pleadings and other legal documents; monitor and actively participate in all aspects of the litigation discovery process; respond to interrogatory and document requests; examine public records relevant to case facts; communicate and work closely with outside counsel, court personnel, expert witnesses, and litigation consultants; prepare for, attend and assist at depositions, hearings, administrative proceedings, mediation and trial; assist with preparation of demonstrative exhibits, jury research and jury selectio! n; and aid in the appeal process. The incumbent partners and consults with in-house and outside counsel to develop affirmative defenses, theory of case and trial strategy and works closely with counsel on trial teams. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED
2 years of recent experience as a paralegal in the area of litigation (within the past 2 years)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
Bachelor's degree in a legal discipline
5 years experience in one or more specialized areas of law, inclusive of litigation
Heightened level of abilities in analytical skills, legal research, due diligence, ethical considerations, accountability for decisions and outcome and overall expertise in the legal profession.
Strong interpersonal skills to include the ability to lead, confidence and composure, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
Superior time managment skills and adeptness in witten and oral communications
