MANDATE

To develop and manage business banking relationships that provide maximum profitability to the Bank at minimum risk. Primarily deal with high net worth, specialized/professional commercial loans. Loan size is $500K - $5M. Incumbents possess 5-7 years experience in negotiating & structuring commercial loans

ACCOUNT! ABILITIES

1. Develops and manages business banking relationships

  • Develops relationship plans for prospects and customers that provide solutions for cash management and other non-lending products and services
  • Ensures adequate documentation for loans and cash mgmt services. Reviews loan application and cash mgmt service agreements for completeness and accuracy and submits application to appropriate departments for processing in a timely manner
  • Coordinate closing with closing department, customers and attorneys. Reviews completed documents prior to loan closing for completeness and accuracy
  • Follows up after closing to insure all documents are completed and in file.
  • Develops new business by contacting prospects and customer, and by cross-selling Bank products and services that include credit, trust/investment and cash management
  • Participates and provides leadership in Bank and community activities including! business, charitable, civic and social organizations, increasing Bank's visibility and enhancing new business opportunities
2. Interviews business customers and prospects, specialized and/or professional loan applicants, describing all loan products, and explaining loan options, rates, terms and collateral requirements

  • Interviews business customers and prospects describing cash management/deposits.
  • Ensures that proper and accurate disclosures are provided to all applicants within Required timeframes.
  • Advises customers, where possible, on business management and other financial matters.
3. Analyzes financial and related data to determine the needs of the customer for proper structuring of the Bank's products and services

  • Evaluates and structures loan requests, determining appropriate documentation for Approved loans.
  • Negotiates terms under which credit/cash mgmt svcs will be extended, inclu! ding costs, repayment method, collateral requirements; ensures extensio! n of credit/delivery of cash mgmt svcs is in accordance with corporate policies, pricing guidelines, portfolio considerations
  • Approves loans up to pre-authorized limits. Serves as the Relationship Manager on Loans above this limit.
4. Assures compliance with all regulations

  • Monitors loan repayment activities and takes necessary action to collect from past-due accounts.

Job Requirements

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

a) Knowledge: Bachelor or equivalent work experience with emphasis in accounting, finance, or business law preferred, knowledge of commercial loan products & lending / compliance regulations, knowledge of underwriting guidelines, credit qualification when initiated; 5-7 years experience in negotiating and structuring commercial loans
