This position is located in the Legal Division, Kansas City Regional Office of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the Supervi! sion Branch, and Corporate, Consumer, Insurance and Legislation Branch.
The incumbent will serve as the Deputy Regional Counsel (Supervision) under the supervision of the Regional Counsel. KEY REQUIREMENTS
This position requires occasional overnight travel. DUTIES:
Manage and supervise the activities of a staff of attorneys, paralegals and administrative/clerical support personnel, providing any necessary instruction, review and counseling for their training and career development, including the preparation and /or review of their performance evaluations.
Manage all legal services pertaining to the examination and supervision of all insured State nonmember banks located in the Region, including supervision of all substantive and administrative matters arising from such legal services conducted in support of the Division of Risk Management Supervision (RMS), and the Division of Depositor and Consumer Protection (DCP). Provide advice to t! he Regional Director and regional staff, as primary counsel, o! n the interpretation and enforceability of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act, rules and regulations issued thereunder, and other laws applicable to banks regulated by the FDIC, including consumer laws such as Equal Credit Opportunity Act, RESPA and the FTC Act.
Manage and supervise the negotiation and consummation of settlements in cases concerning the FDIC's supervisory functions arising in the Region, and administrative and investigatory proceedings and litigation under sections of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act as well as other banking laws and regulations, consumer laws and regulations, including the collection of evidence, and preparation of legal pleadings and briefs for hearings before administrative law judges. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Candidates must have at least one year of specialized experience performing duties equivalent to those of a CG/GS-14 or higher attorney in a banking or regulatory environment. Current bar membership is required.
Bar membership required.
Completion of Confidential Financial Disclosure may be required.

5. Knowledge of Federal and State bank examination proceedings, banking practices and procedures and FDIC policy.
